AI is here—and it isn’t going away. But does that mean we should simply embrace everything it has to offer? No.
AI presents serious dangers to creation, human dignity, and the future of our shared world. While a small number of ultra-wealthy corporations are investing hundreds of billions of dollars into developing increasingly powerful AI systems, the consequences will not be shared equally. Those with the fewest resources—including the world’s poor and most vulnerable communities—may bear some of the greatest costs.
In this series, we’ll examine the threats AI poses to our health, our livelihoods, our freedom, our communities, and our planet. We’ll ask who benefits from the rapid expansion of AI, who pays the price, and what is at stake if we fail to confront these dangers.
